mg zr 1.8

my daughter is interested in buying a mg zr 1.8. has anyone got any opinions on this car?

MG performed a minor miracle with these cars, (especially the ZS which is based on the truly awful 45), by making them into pretty good cars. The ZR handles well and the 1.8 version goes well too. Personally I find the body kits and colours a bit too much, but thats a matter of personal taste, and the interiors still have a rather tarted up look, with the rather dated underpinnings showing through. But they are well built, and fun to drive. The 1.8 engine is rather noisy, so can be a bit wearing on longer journeys.

The car is a good performer and has a decent amount of space. But beware, you can buy a new car for around 7grand right now and in 2 years it is going to only be worth around 3 and a half bearing in mind Rovers current situation
