When my daughter was born in Calgary I had to send to Montreal for a pram. Must have been the only mum in the city with a pram. At a function I was chatting with the Mayor. He asked me about living in Calgary. I said it was great except for the potholes in the pavements and how pushing a pram was difficult. A few days later on local news there he was standing in a pothole....

:-)
Except it's no laughing matter. Never known it so bad. Blooming government grabs more than acceptable amounts in Road Fund Licence and petrol tax; the very least they could do is ensure the roads are fit for a first world country before stealing the rest for other purposes.

That was a sincere and very deep answer Og

A few days later on local news there he was standing in a pothole. He told them he had had a complaint about potholes and was setting up Ralph Klein's Pothole Patrol. He would ensure that every reported pothole was sorted.
It was a success with potholes being repaired in the ROADS!

I had forgotten that what we call a road they call a pavement and what we call a pavement is a side-walk so I was still bumping the baby along...except when crossing perfect roads.
:-(
I believe it became an annual event.
Thank you, Dusty. :-)

It seems thats all they are doing, ´looking in to them!!´
After many years our Parish Council finally beat the Borough Council into submission last year. They came and resurfaced from the main A6 all the way into the village, even doing the work overnight. We are still waiting for the road markings, at this rate the road will need doing again before we get them. Our roads are old concrete roads built for the the airfield during the war and they didn't break the concrete up meaning it won't last long.
