when cold the engine starts every time.....after running for a short time, if stopped it won't start again...if you leave for a few hours it starts no problem!! I called out the AA and he found a blocked drain which caused water to get into the ECU compartment. I took out the ECU and it looked dry and OK....Is the ECU the cause of this problem or has there been a short somewhere else?? The wiring loom may have been in the water.

I've got a similar problem with my Honda Prelude, it is a common fault with them. It is down to the main relay under the dash. It needs re-soldering as it is not freeing up the contacts all the time. This usually happens on a warm start. A good thump on the dash above it does the trick! Not sure if that is what is wrong with yours but I listen out for a click which coincides with the engine light going out when turning the ignition on, before starting. No click - no start. Hope that helps.
