I have an 1996 Audi A4 Avant 2.6SE V6 and I am having a problem with the car overheating. Seems to be running at about 90 Degrees which is what the handbook says is normal but when I bring the vehicle to a complete stop all the coolant is lost through the overflow valve? I can't understand it? any help would be much appreciated.

it's boiling when the coolant has stopped circulating. does the cooling fan work? some vehicles have the fan running for a set time after the engine is switched off to combat this problem. does anyone know audi's? i do fords the kebabmeister does rover. anyone....?

It is instantaneous, as soon as the vehicle is stopped the overflow valve opens and the coolant all comes out. All the fans are working correctly.

I thought it might be a problem with the expansion tank cap not fitting securely and the system losing pressure but I have corrected this and the problem still occurs????

Still lost as to why its happening?
