"clip" snapped on clutch

The above happened to my car so i called out the AA. Guy came and replaced it with a cable tie ( he said he was replacing it with a clip) till i took it for repair , in your opinion is a cable tie acceptable as a temp repair bearing in mind i had to drive the car home about 3 miles

Thanks , mechanic has just took it for repair x
Righto, ladybirder, it will soon be back as good as new. 5 min job to put on a new clip.

Did it work and get you home.... if the answer is yes then it's an acceptable repair.
police officers use cable ties as handcuffs, they are perfectly strong enough.
