Has anyone got any opinions on the Citeron C3 or Chevrolte (once known as Daewoo) Kalos as I need a car around their price range and I am looking for other owners opinions

citroen's are great little cars, go for that. i've heard bad things about daewoo's concerning build quality

My sister drives a Citroen Picasso and when she had it in for a service they let her borrow their C3. She said it was really awkward to drive and stiff.
Don't know if it's just because it was like that compared to hers but she made me change my mind from getting one. I got a Clio instead.

But I do love the bubbly exterior on the C3

Thanks Happy_face that really helps
We have a Daewoo Lanos and its been no trouble at all, no build probs
My wife has a C3 Petrol and my son a C3 Diesel, no problems from either of them, great driving position and a lot of car for the price you pay. I have driven both and like them very much, obviously the choice is yours as far as petrol or diesel is concerned but one thing I will say is that the diesel engine is very quiet and oh so many miles to the gallon. which ever you pick I am sure you will be pleased, personally I do not think I would even consider the Chevvy (aka Daewoo) against the Citroen
Avoid both, as both the C3 and Kalos have experienced problems regarding build quality. You don't define your budget or requirements so it's difficult to help, but you may find you're better off buying a nearly new vehicle and letting the first owner taking the hit of the depreciation. I drive a 12-month-old Nissan Micra and have had no problems with it from day one. If you like the bubbly looks of the C3 you might like the Micra and it's far more practical - the sliding rear seat of my 1.2 SX 5dr has helped me carry a dining table and four chairs home from a well-known Swedish furniture store before!
Have to agree with last post. Unless you have shares in the AA, I wouldn't touch either. Go for a Micra.
well i've got the chevrolet lacetti 1.8 sport which is the 5 door hatch and i cant fault it. i bought it new in september and it cost me 9895 on the road, including one years tax, 3 years 'aa' cover 5 years anti corrosion warrenty, abs, traction control, electric windows all round, full two tone leather seats and trim, blaupunkt cd/radio, multi speakers,air-con,chilled glovebox, loads of space in the rear, ample boot space plus folding rear seats. full colour coded bodykit, lowered suspension, sports exhaust, boot spoiler, 16 sports alloys on low profile tyres. although its not a real sports car in terms of speed it certainly fulfils my needs for a practical modern car with plenty of goodies for your hard earned cash! metalic paint is standard in red, silver or black. mines pearl black which glitters in the sun.
