just got a refund cheque for my road tax or the car that crashed, they spelt my surname wrong on cheque, cant say i noticed it before, they just put an M instead of H in my surname, is this going to be a problem or me? will my bank decline it? thanks guys.

I would think if it looks like your name, it'll be fine.

and watch your handwriting in future ;o)

yeah, my 'H' may have looked like an 'M', especially when i needed the money for another car....this silly mistake could have delayed me further..lol thanks lovey
Just try it. They probably won't notice.
Try it and see - my bank's been quite sticky in the past that names must be correct, it depends how well they know you, it might be fine.

If you spelled your name correctly on the reclaim form, DVLA ought to send a new cheque if you have problems banking it.
I was once told by someone who worked in a bank that they dont look closely at any cheque under (and I think this was the amount) £5000!
I work in a building society and we would not accept it like that.
You should call Dvla they will cancel cheque and send a new one with correct name.
