Does anyone know what effect the impending demise of the Rover/Mini plant at Longbridge will have on new Mini sales. Are the current Minis going to become collectors items or museum pieces ? I was thinking of buying a new Mini Cooper but I'm not sure about getting replacement parts and servicing in the future. Is this the end of dreams of wizzing up the Kings Road in a beautiful little Mini ?

I doubt it mini is part of BMW  now not Rover
yes I do - none what so ever.  BMW still own Mini which are produced at Cowley in Oxford.  BMW sold off the rest of Rover as the right to produce the Mini was what they really wanted.  So your dreams can still live on.
Wouldn't want to be seen dead in a new Mini - they are horrible! Give me a 60s Mini Cooper S anytime.
