why dont my brake lights work on my ford fiesta, the bulbs and the fuse are ok and there is a good earth connection

There may be a break somewhere in the wiring, but most likely its because the switch behind the brake pedal has moved or broken.

Your brake light switch, located in front or behind the brake pedal near the top, is knackered.
