Our motorhome was stolen on 8th June 2008 and was recovered five days later, minimal damage was sustained to the vehicle itself, televisions, sat system and personal effects stolen.
The claim was finalised and work completed August this year. With the vehicle now all repaired we tried to sell it only to be told by prospective buyers it was listed on vehicle databases as stolen/ recovered and therefore very difficult to sell (at least at full market value).
Is it possible to get it removed from the databases? If not is there any recourse against the insurers with regard to its loss in saleability?
The motorhome cost in excess of 70k, the claim amounted to nearly 5k.

A stolen recovered vehicle should not be on the database, it will be in category X.

Try and get it removed.
