astra heater not blowing on screen???

hi my heater in my astra 51, does not blow onto the screen!! it has electric controls, the motor works fine , i have taken out the glovebox and had a look, the flaps in the heater box dont work when i push the buttons on the heater??? can anyone help?? cheers!!
