This happened to me a few weeks ago - seriously!
Driving along - buzzing noise from the dashboard, handbrake light came on, speedo was u/s, petrol gauge u/s, rev counter u/s.
Got towed to my usual VW garage who phoned me the next day and told me that they could not find anything wrong!
The car has driving normally since!
Anyone got any ideas?

Check the connections on the Battery, the Earth, connections at the Starter/Solenoid, Take out each fues & clean the contacts.

could be whats called the CAN system which is at fault,the system is basically what communicates all the control units with each other.could be a basic wiring fault,junction or ecu which is sporadically muckin about.main dealer should detect/check for that
