Your third what?
What subject is your degree in?
Try and pick something you enjoy, as you will put more effort into it.

I did Business for my degree. As I'm a young woman I enjoy celeb mags etc. so as the Kate Moss scandel was about at the time decided to do it on her.
I just arranged a meeting with my tutor and said maybe do on her so then he said we could relate it to Corporate Social Responsibilty as alot of companies fired her as felt they had to as society rules.
That way I enjoyed it-as it took up 10months of my life, and related it to my degree!
I would take it you're doing a law degree?

Which area of law interests you the most? Which modules have you done the best in?

Pick something that is neither too narrow or wide so you can target it properly and take appropriate research possibilities in consideration.

Ok...some ideas.

Property - Adverse Possession (squatters right) - there have been some changes and new case law on this recently and lots of info on it. You also have the Land Registry as a resource as well.

Medical - so much here as so many issues. An interesting relatively recent case was the lady who wanted to use her frozen embryo's but her former partner refused to let her use them.

IP - consider the position of IP law in the explosion of downloading music etc...on the internet. Youtube, Napster. Defamation....

Legal issues surrounding reclaiming bank charges.

Hi

I have just finished my law degree and bagged a 1st for tackling the Internet defamation fiasco. There is a massive area for research here, especially if you want to tackle cross-jurisdictional comparisons.. Forum shopping, the EU influence and the repercutions of Bunt v Tilly [2006]..

Easy and safe options are - Euthanasia, Honour killings, Corporate Manslaughter, HIP mess, legal reforms ie the LSA....

It all depands on your passion.

I really cant emphasise enough that you should have a subject chosen by the start of term. I was complacent and thought it was going to be a doddle, but the year is so intense and to have your dissertation organised takes 1 thing off your list of worries.

Good luck and post on here if you need any more advice
