Hi, Ist of all if you know nothing about 2nd hand cars take someone with you that does, as stated do not hand money over, you pay what you see on the windscreen, your trade in price is sod all, if you have one to trade sell it private you will get a better return but make sure you sell it with the truth or you may come unstuck, Always check the history of the car you buy & dont delay in doing that, dont bye when its been raining ( No i am not been funny) check the condition of the drivers seat for wear especialy the eves of the seat this can cost a few bob to replace, Its not so often you will get a chance to try the car out as they are packed in like sardines, the warrantee they give you is a month so think about it, I know what I would do, But I like to barter for everything & you know, It works, there are that many cars out there & you have the last say because its your money they are after.

Thanks, will bear it in mind. Wont be til august time i'm ready to buy, so hopefully the rain wont be an issue.
My partner got a Focus from a car supermarket in Birmingham, connected to a large Ford dealer. It was one owner low mileage and very good condition dealer serviced, new front tyres (see below). It was supposed to have been RAC or AA checked. After 6 months it went for a winter check at the same dealers that were part of the same group, it was found to have some faults. After a lot of arguments, weth the dealers denyiing that they were connected with the car supermarket, dispite there advertising saying they were. Then when it needed a MOT the same dealer had to put new front tyres as the ones fitted were one speed rating to low, dispite phoning them many times could not get any money for it.
It goes back to what I have said, If you are not well up on cars get someone that is.
