My car door was snatched out of my hand by the wind and banged against the wing mirror on another car. There was no damage to the wing mirror but I have a small but nasty black mark across my paintwork (silver) - any ideas what I can use to get it off??

Try methalated spirits first on a soft cloth, if that does not work try white spirit or petrol. Failing that use a very fine abrasive such as silver polish. Finally use car polish to restore the gloss finish.
Avoid cutting compounds such as T cut.
Usually just using polish will get rid of the marks made by black plastic mirrors, don't use anything abrasive or it will damage the paintwork
take no notice of the first post, just use a good polish on it as toureman said,t-cut silver polish will be ok.never use petrol or white spirits
