I have a pug 106. my oil cap has the white stuff when you look under it. ive been told it is the head on its way out but also been told it could just be condensation. My fan comes in after short journeys also. Also, i keep topping the water up and it is being used very quickly. at first i thought it was going through the engine but after running it and opening the bonnet the back pressure was forcing it back out of the cap that you put the water in to begin with. And my dash board has two lights. one a temperature and one an oil light that both flicker on and off together whilst driving. Could this just be a short because they would come on and stay on together wouldnt they? please help? and how much would a head be if it needs replacing. it is a 1998 on an s pug 106 zest. thanks

If you want to know if the head gasket has gone, check your dipstick for the same white stuff, if it is there then the head gasket has gone, if not its more likely to be condensation
Hi, With the header tank topped to it's mark, Run the car & check if the water is coming out of the overflow pipe, If so, Gasket, Is the Radiator water clean? Is the Rad Blocked ? If all here is ok, Get the Car Pressure Tested, this will indicate Gasket, If it is, Head Skimmed, Gaskets, Summer/ Winter Antifreez, New Thermostat Recomended You are Talking in the region of 300.
