Personally I wouldn't use anything on my paintwork that was recommended for use on cars.
dont use it,full stop.
best thing for scratches and this was told me by a leading paint mixing company. I had a pearlescent escort cab and was a small scratch on rthe boot. He told me get some 2000 grit sand paper (really smooth stuff) and sand the scratch out. When this is done touch up with a brush with a few bristles on. When dry sand it smooth with the same sand paper and you'll never know its been done.. Best thing for tar spots and that sort of stuff is the g4 finishing paste. This is what a body shop uses to finish your paint job off. Takes out all blemishes and i've used it myself.
Brasso is no good for general cleaning but superb for light abrasion such as blending in a newly sprayed small arae of paint. It blends in the overpray area and shines up thr new paint.
