do they repair chips in window screens for free,as stated by these people who stand on supermarket car parks?or is ther a catch somewhere along the line?

well ive been told that the catch is that if it is more than a specified amount deep, you have too pay:(
if you are fully comp,its free,your insurance company is billed for the repair,its cheaper for them to pay for a repair then a new screen.
They will bill your insurance company anything from �40 to �75 + vat for the repair ,

They are not magicians and it may well not dissapear , It will put strength back into it however and it should be repaired to an mot standard , if not take it back to them.

Sometimes they may crack when being repaired If they haven't told you the risk you may be entitled to a new w/screen paid for by them .

Remember they said they could repair it not make it worse!!!! certainly a bone of contention and they will back down !! if they havent informed you of the risk !!
theres an area on the windscreen that is classed as non-reparable because it impairs your vision! cant remember how far up from the off-side corner it is tho
