I was under the impression that the correct colour could be obtained by giving the chassis number to the paintshop.
the color code is is on the vin plate under bonnet . not very helpful on this site are they
Ahem, i am more than helpfull.
Sorry to intrude john.
PS: The paintshop can give the model number to the manafacturer and the manafacturer will give the paintshop the colour code.
if the paint shop is any good they will be able to make the paint up themselves, from the code, thats if they have the mixing machine,we have in our workshop,we just program the code in and it mixes the paint for us,perhaps the bodyshop you have taken the car too is a backstreet garage.
hi you haven't said what was being painted on your car the problem arrives if you are only painting 1 panel , which can be very hard to match, most paintshops will blend into the adjoining panels , toyota silvers can be a problem i know from past experience of trying to match the colour ,only to find poor opacity on the original finish.
