youre not alone. i have a hyundai lantra estate and i have the same problem it drives me nuts
Make sure you havn't got the ventilation set to recirculate -check your handbook.

If you are on recirc no fresh air gets drawn in from the outside so all the moisture you breath out just stays in the car and goes round and round, causing the steaming up.
If there is a filter in the ventilation system it may need changing too.
Check under the mats to see if the carpet is wet. You may have a leak, and there has been a touch of rain recently.
Opening a window helps until you find the problem.
It drives me mad - I borrow my Dads car and he has no ventilation on at all - the fans are off and the vents closed it steams up in no time.

Open them all the vents up - put the fan on speed 1 and get air from the outside in. Turn the heater control to 1/4 heat (to take the edge off the cool air) - that should do it.
you need to replace your pollen filter

Thanks everyone for all your answers i'll give them a try.
Ok, a couple of suggestions...

Put the aircon on and recirculatory air.
The aircon unit removes moisture from the cabin, the air it blows out will demist the windows.
(remember you don't need to have it on cold, to have the aircon on... you can still have warmth)

Alternatively, get a bigger car for dogging in.
put a little fairy liquid on a rag and wipe inside the windows
