Having kerbed my alloys once or twice is there anything I can do to refurbish them myself without going to outside specialists ? Can I, for example, use a wire brush in a power drill or various grades of emery cloth leading to a polish ?

Thanks.

yes of course you can,a sander would be better.when you have sanded them down, give them a couple of coats of paint, and then put some laquer on to make them look nice.we do it all the time on our older cars, they come up a treat.but it is better to take them off one by one and do it that way, just take your toime doing it and they will come up a treat.
