car stereo - stupid question

I've a 1991 rover 414 and unfortunately the cassette stereo has finally died - having never having to do anything with the stereo I'm wondering about replacing the unit, especially as I don't know anything about connections. I'm assuming that the existing stereo has a din? connection and modern stereos have ISO connections, so basically my question is how difficult is it to install a conversion kit (din to iso) or, even better, do any major stockists still stock din? stereos
