reverse lights on my 2004 corsa don't work

i have a 2004 vauhall corsa, and i am having trouble with the reverse lights not cominig on when in gear. i have checked the bulbs and checked all three fuses in the fuse box, all are ok. i have been told to check the reverse switch but unable to locate and as there are no books available at the moment for my req car could anyone help! any advice welcome

The reverse light switch is located on the upper / front of the transmission casing -
To test the switch disconnect the wiring and using a suitable meter to check for continuity between the switch terminals.
Continuity should only exist when reverse gear is selected.
If this is not the case and there are no obvious breaks or damage to the wires - the switch is faulty and must be renewed.
Dont forget to recover the 'O' ring off the old switch to put onto the new one.
