Hi, I bought an Octavia Elegance in June last year and I cannot fault it. I've never owned a Skoda before but decided to take the plunge after reading favourable reviews.

The price included all the extras that I would have had to pay for in a similar size car.

I cannot comment on the insurance as that is all down to age and no claim bonuses etc. but my insurance is very reasonable.

Regards

Hi, thanx very much both of you, I appreciate your help. I think said son is going to look into it seriously now.
Where I live (Glasgow area) at least 90% of private hire taxis are Octavias. I think that says sometihng.
my dad is onto his second, he did 80,000 miles trouble free in three years so he got another

Thanx Gef and bigboots, thats really useful to know cos my son does a lot of mileage and motorway driving in going to and from work so I need to know hes got something reliable.
I had an Octavia Ambiente estate 1.9 TDI and cannot recommend it enough, it was cheaper than the equivalent Ford Focus and has more gadgets (trip computer, Cd autochanger etc) as standard.

I cannot comment on insurance as it was a company car, but definately worth it for spending hours on the motorway.
