Groaning noise when accelerating mostly on lock, pug 306..

I have tryed everything i know,New drive shafts,Gearbox striped out & Rebuilt,Checked out & replaced antiroll bar components where required,Wheel bearings are fine,Wishbone assembley fine,subframe bolts all secure,No aparent play in the steering wheel,But still the noise is their,I dont think it can be anything important,But it is very annoying.PLEASE HELP! its driving me mad..

I know how you feel, I don't suppose it has power steering has it? thats the only other thing I could think of, you have done everything else.
ditto what toureman said? as soon as you said groaning and full lock?? top it up and see what happens?

Sorry but the power steering seems fine,And it does not have to be on full lock to make that noise ,that is driving me crazzzzzzzy!!!!!!!! Any more ideas wellcome..
I believe Peugeot had a modification for a complaint similar to yours, it involved putting a metal spacer in the o/s engine mount, try with a lever to see if there is any excessive play in the top engine mounting. From what you say can't think of any thing else?
