Compare the fact that it is small and she is small and therefore it seems like her whole world.

Perhaps the variety of people who live there. Or compare the sanctity of her home to the strangeness of the Radley place.

How about the visitors they get too - and don't forget to mention the protection of her father and Jem...

Does that help?

you could touch on the fact that everything that goes on in Maycomb is seen through the innocent eyes of a child - Scout... whilst there are bad things happening around her somehow a fairness is added. resulting in good coming from evil.
If you need to write about how it is a good place to live, think about what you don't like about where you live, or what many people complain about in terms of where they live: impersonality, lack of concern for others, fact that people move around and don't stay in one place, etc. She seems to like the fact that Maycomb residents are not this way. Maybe you can think of some other problems in comtemporary society.
