I don't but i wish i did. :-)
i went there once, don;t remember much though
No...I have been there a few times through work and I live in Northamptonshire. It's a horrible place from what I've seen and it's known as little Scotland. No offence to any Scottish.
I went there once, it was closed
I had a bunk-up in my to-be-ex-husband's lorry bunk there once.... In a garage forecourt.
Those were the days...
My Dad was a policeman, for a while, in Corby.

I think he would agree with the statement.............

Perhaps TCL will see the thread and let us have the benefit of his experience ?
^ if he hasn't got a hangover :)

Oh dear Jack - it was probably your dad that cautioned us for indecency in a public place. (We did close the curtains...)
When we were kids, we used to beg our Grandad to take us to Corby because they had absolutely MONSTER cranes there. We were absolutely transfixed by the size of these things. Girly girls we were.
Did they accidentally miss Blackpool out of the survey?

I can't believe that Corby came out worse than Blackpool!!!
I live in Blackpool............(is there some sort of theme developing ?) and would say that our drink problems are, in the main, caused by outsiders/tourists/visitors rather than the residents.

I'm not sure what the tourist figures are for Corby.....................:o)
None I'd say...

No disrespect for anyone who lives in a council house but what I've seen of Corby it's just like one massive council estate.

its like everywhere, depends which part you live in
I was born there and left aged 18 and 42 days.

Its a very bleak place in terms of the culture and was very hard hit by the closure of its Steelworks in 1980. A working class town with only a small middle class due to the labour party constraining the building of middle class housing until the 1970s.

There is a lot of drugs there too but some absolutely great people.

For those who choose to go for it Corby is a "Can do place" but people tend to make their money and are "Forced" to live in the villages outside including the County of Rutland the third richest place in Britain.

So don't trust the stats! Anyway quiet suburban alcohol abuse goes on everywhere so I would be careful of throwing too many stones?

But Corby is architecturally a butt ugly place but with great shopping!

And I believe that the great Wonder World fiasco caused a stagnation in the town after the steelworks closed down.

great shopping? are we talking about teh same corby??
Drinkers in Corby are clearly more savvy than others:-

Beer may cut prostate cancer risk http://itn.co.uk/ede8...26d48310a354a5f7.html
There's an aquascutum shop there.
The band, Raging Speedhorn are from Corby. Gets my vote.
