I'm a Swede living in Sweden but we do get to see a lot of your British drama series and shows, Parkinson being one of the popular ones over here as well. I was just wondering, how is he and has he been up to anything interesting after the final Parkinson show?

he's old, looks like a turtle, and seems to just to tv adverts now
he did dirty his bib with his comment about Jade Goody and how the public shouldnt make so much of a fuss over when she died
what do you swedes think of Ulrika Jonsson? Who are the hottest babes presenting tv in Sweden now?
Question Author
pericat, that sounds out of character - perhaps he's bored...? But I do remember him acting like a bully to Meg Ryan so I suppose even the sun has its spots...

chirpychirpy, bit sad he should be doing ads:( but he probably enjoys it so that's good then :)
We hardly ever see Ulrika Jonsson on the telly over here anymore. There was a documentary five years or so ago but that's the last I remember. The tabloids do mention her from time to time but I'm not sure what the public opinion might be. Hottest continuity announcer in my opiniation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av008_4XhvY
I agreed with what parky said about Jade Goody, pericat, she wasn't that special.
I think it was more the timing of what he said - inappropriate when someone has just died no matter who they are I suppose -
Hi Sweedie, Parky's just done a one man show in Oz & N. Zealand so I daresay he's feeling ok.
The Meg Ryan interview was bizarre, I don't know what was going on there?! Not sure if you'll be able to view this...

Now c'mon, that announcer's very nice but there's only ever been one Swedish hunk

Oh Robi I don't know how I could forget The Swedish Chef, considering I always use this: http://www.google.com/intl/xx-bork/

Happy to hear he's vigorous and touring, and yes I was able to view the site :) Thanks!

I also agree with his comments regarding Jade Goody and Meg Ryan (trout lips) deserved all she got. Parky has written a book which is very good

See you all on the show when I get back home, for now I've got a knitting related expedition on my agenda.

PS Will Vinny be on when he comes back from that uni tour, with a hairdo like the one Michael Parkinson had when young, he he, we live in hope Vinny!

Diva? Who you callin' a diva?...Don'tcha know who I am?
Hi all, another lovely day here but cold....I quite like the wallpaper but can someone clear old all those empty cahmpagne bottles please?....and bring some full ones.
Question Author
Only TWO guests on the show...? ...one of them so drunk she can't even spell what she's been drinking >>>>>>

...and the other one insisting on a Siberian hamster?? Well lady you can't have one, we're saving it for when Ozzy Osbourne comes on, he's gone off his doves.

You remember the Kid Silk Haze yarn I bought, and the pattern for Rowan's Chartwell shawl? I was going to start on it yesterday so I phoned the store with one small question before beginning, and they say "Wait, did you say the Chartwell? Don't begin knitting! We've discovered the pattern's all wrong!" I've been quite sad actually cos I thought it was so beautiful and it didn't even seem difficult... but if it turns out something entirely different, maybe that's why it wasn't difficult:( So, anyway, I'm emailing Rowan to ask if they've corrected the pattern, and meanwhile I want to do something completely different. I've found a pattern I like but I don't entirely understand it. Will be back a little later tonight to ask the knitting biddies about it, if you're awake.

Ahoy knitters, here's what I don't get. This is the shawl I want to make - click on the picture for a larger view: http://knitmarie.blog...e-i-varande-frga.html

And here's the pattern, which I sort of almost understand (cos I've got the 'Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Knitting Book' in English and there are lots of tutorials in English on YouTube et cetera) http://toveb.typepad....andle_flame_shawl.pdf

But here's what I don't get. Every time you get to a new row of flames you have to increase, of course. The first instance is in row 9 and 10. But the pattern says cast on??? To me that sounds like "making" new stitches alone in a row on a needle, whereas I would have thought one would increase "inside" the pattern - albeit on the sides but still a couple of stitches in. I just don't understand what they mean??

I think I may have found something, is this it? http://techknitting.b...-stitches-at-end.html

G'night folks, see you on the show tomorrow.
Morning all, so cold yesterday we lit another log fire, yes, Mr N actually chopped the logs (well, they weren't logs until he chopped them) Horrendous storm in the night, just spend hours cleaning up the debris outside, what a mess, hope the mainland didn't get the rain, it couldn't take any more! Our drains will now be very slow as we have a cesspit and it cannot work well when the ground is sodden!! Sometimes I envy apartment dwellers!!!
Morning...am I on today? I need to know whether to put me teeth in.

Cold neti? At least you're in + figures, it's -2C here. Yes I'm starting to envy apartment dwellers myself, I had an hour outside yesterday & I was boogered. Please note 15 mins of that hour was spent talking to JW's...tut...got caught in the front garden, it's hard to pretend you're out when you're stood standing there - and I did try very hard to impersonate a pile of dead stuff.

....he hasn't come along...but you never know who I might meet after the show :o)
Sorry I can't help with the knitting Kit, I'm a bit out of practice.
