As a young stay at home mum, I remember watching a magazine type program at lunchtimes. There was a group of women chatting or in the kitchen cooking. It was all quite proper, not at all like Loose Women. Anyone else remember it?

House-party
I remember if I had a day off school ill then it would be on. Did the doorbell used to ring and the next guest would arrive and show off her knitting or something. It was on around the same time as Farmhouse kitchen wasn't it?
Was it Lunch Box with Noele Gordon?
It was Houseparty - I used to love it!

Thanks. Glad I am not the only one with happy memories.
I loved that too, as you say, happy memories. I also loved Emmerdale Farm, as it used to be with Annie and Matt and Dolly, that was on in the afternoons as well.

I have tried to find out information about Houseparty on the usual search engines but with no luck. Can anyone recall the names of any of the women?
Sylvia Marshall
Anne Ladbury
Mary Morris
I used to love Houseparty. They don't make programmes like that anymore. Just rubbish like Loose Women and Crap in the Attic etc.

Thanks Horselady. How can you remember those names after all these years!
I only remember one, Mary Morris. She seemed really ancient to me back then, I was all of 24 years old!! I'm now probably older than the poor woman was!! I used to be gobsmacked by the lovely "house" and all the nice things in it, we didn't have much furniture in those early days!

Anyway I googled her name and up popped some info on the prog and some other names.
the sullivans-remember that,,,that was on when i use to go to my nans at lunch time for my dinner from school.
the good old days...
look at it now....
