What did others think of the Comedy Show that was put on to celebrate Prince Charles 60th birthday?

I quite enjoyed it, apart from Rowen Atkinson's take off of a vicar delivering a sermon. Although it was quite funny in parts I thought it rather inappropriate to present such a sketch before the Prince. During other acts the camera focused on the Royal guests to show their reactions, they seemed to be having a good laugh.

I wonder what their reaction were during Rowen's act because it didn't show us? Being the future head of the church, one wonders whether Charles found himself in the embarrassing situation of not knowing whether to laugh or keep a straight face,

>Being the future head of the church,

Well as future leader of the church, he has hardly taken the "moral high ground" has he.

Having an affair with Camilla while SHE was married.

Then while he was preparing to marry Diana continuing with the affair.

Then AFTER he was married to Diana carrying on with the affair.

Great role model to have as head of the church.
I thought he was the future head of state, not head of the church, as thought that was the Archbishop of Canterbury. I agree that the Royal Family have no right to stand in judgement of any of us commoners. We are all as clean as a preacher's sheets, aren't we?

Can you see this comedy show on the internet on BBC iplayer or anywhere? What channel was it on?
Agree the Rowan sketch was disappointing.

I have seen Rowan do far funnier sketches, not sure if this was a new sketch or one he has done live in the past.

Maybe his school teacher sketch would have been better.

It was on ITV on saturday night. In 2 sections, at 9pm and 10:30pm (or thereabouts)

Cant see it on "ITV Catch up"

A search on "We are most amused" in YouTube finds loads of videoas for it.

The web site below says monarch is:

The Sovereign holds the title 'Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England'.

I loved Michael Macintyre (spelling?) and his observations on life. Didn't like Rowan, not at his funniest.
I enjoyed the show but like you AOG didn't enjoy Rowan Atkinson at all.

I love Bill Bailey and he and Robin Williams singing together was hilarius. And, like yogasun, thought Michael McIntyre was really funny and clever.

A good bit of weekend entertainment for a change - and it was nice to see Charles really enjoying it too.
Would that be the same Robin Williams who once did a sketch mocking Prince Charles, quote "When you see Prince Charles don't you get the feeling someone in the royal family knew someone in the royal family? Big old ears."
I loved all of it even the Rowan Attkinson sketch.
I thought the Rowan Atkinson bit was the best bit but was sure I'd seen it before.

Apparently it is one of his very earliest comedy sketches!
