I think both of these done the weakest of the performances tonight but does anyone else think that it's a bit unfair that a seventeen(?) year-old was sent home because he couldn't put as much passion into his song as a man singing for his deceased wife? Don't get me wrong, I really feel for Daniel and I couldn't imagine how awful things are and have been for him. I just think it's wrong to expect a teenager to sing with the same amount of emotion. Anyone agree? x

In the main competition I would have sent Daniel home and when he said he was singing for his deceased wife a part of me thought "sympathy vote". BUT after their last performances I thought Daniel won hands down, not just because of the experience he could put behind the song, but I've seen Scott do better. My daughter is not best pleased-she loved Scott!!!
I agree. But I think it's fair to say that Scott didn't try hard enough - his problem all through the contest. The sing off is a chance to save yourself. Daniel chose an emotive piece of music that really showcased his vocal style and he sang it with conviction. Scott (lazily) chose a song he'd already used in his audition for Simon and it was just average.

I think he's only got himself to blame. His sulky reaction at the end shows the weakness in his character - and proves he just didn't have the X Factor. You wouldn't have seen Frank Sinatra act like that on stage.

Hell, you wouldn't've even caught Shane Ritchie do that on stage...
I completly agree. Daniels final performance was no where near as good as Scotts. I have no interest in who wins I just like the show. Daniel was off key and to be honest a little croaky. As you have said I do feel for the bloke losing his wife and it must be hard, but to turn on the tears is a little too much and for Louie to justify his vote and not get booed by the crowd by also turning on the emotions is a bridge too far.
I just think to a certain degree that this show has an hidden agenda and is as bent as ITVs telephone system.

I know what you mean - he didn't put everything he had into his performance so maybe it was right that he went. I think I'm just losing patience with the sympathy act though. I don't know how much longer the show can drag it out because it's them, not Daniel, who's doing it.
Scott shouldn't have sulked either - very unprofessional.
Doesn't really matter if it was Scott or Daniel, cos the other one will not be far behind.

True. Daniel has to go next week - how can they get him to do an emotional heartfelt disco number?!
daniel will be off next week, should have been voted out on the first week.
awful singer,,cant see his picture on a teenagers bedroom wall,,or being a ringtone on there mobiles.
he would make a good santa though..
alexandra to win,,,,hopefully
How can Louie, for example tell Daniel that he can never win - but tell Scott that the girls are going to love him, then vote him off.

The final song by Scott was not as good as Daniel but isn't this a longer time over view of who could do better in the 'competition'?

I don't get it.
Personally I think that Louis only voted for Daniel so that one of Simon's acts got sent home! Even if he was moved by the performance, he repeatedly said how much he thought Daniel shouldn't be there prior to this performance
