Hi - I remember a show that used to be on late on channel 4 I think, where old black and white films were the voices were dubbed over comically. It was hilarious I seem to recall and a typical cult style tv show. It had one word for the name of the show - I'm sure it began with A.. something like 'Astonishing' or 'Absolutely' but neither of those... And there was no presenter or voiceover, just a series of clips chopped up with music and animation.. Anyone know what this was called?

Hey thanks to you both but unfortunately it was neither of those although the same kind of idea. It was a series of clips and there was animation of this ilk http://www.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/d0/5/AAAA Av_F7fEAAAAAANBWZQ.png used in between clips..
