claire in eastenders

Does anyone know where Claire (a dreadful character and completely unbelievable), has popped up from in East Enders. We have missed some episodes being on holiday but from the current dialogue she seems to know Cindy Beale and gives the impression she has been there before. I cannot remember her at all and we have watched it since it started.

She's Nigel's stepdaughter. She was in it years ago. I missed the episode when she returned, too, though. :)

I don't watch 'stenders (can't stand it!) but according to a mate she is virtually playing the same character she played in Hollyoaks.

To be fair tho you probably wouldn't recognise her as her characture was a sweetie in the old days. Typical 'enders, re-invent the personality when it suits....

thanks for all of these replies. Yes of course I remember Debbie Nigel and Claire. She most certainly doesn't resemble the character she was when she left the series. Then again she's grown up now and who knows what has happened to her since then. Catch yourself on - this is FICTION!!!! The episodes where she re-appeared, presumably with an explanation as to why and where she had been previously were the ones we missed while on holiday. Then again maybe they just threw her back in without any explanation at all in the way that Eastenders tends to bring in people who have never been mentioned ever at all. It is crap actually, don't know why we watch it really, bit like one of those substances that you know you really shouldn't have but somehow can't seem to let go of - chocolate, cigarettes, booze etc.

That is exactly what happened! She was first seen being thrown out of the back of a car, but no explanation of her past.
