In the early 70s there was a program on tv possibly called out of the unknown and the theme music was someone whistling a tune, does anyone know the program, or music, or where its available from?

The music to Out of the Unknown was called 'Out of the Unknown' and was written by Norman Kay, who wrote music for lots of programmes including Quatermass and Doctor Who.

But if the programme you are thinking of had an empty funfair and whistling, it could have been a Hammer production - Journey to the Unknown, shown around the same time.
The theme tune was 'Journey to the Unknown' and was written by Harry Robinson.

I don't know if either of these are available on cd, but there is a Hammer House of Horror cd that includes music by Harry Robinson.
