It was a mixed marriage.The father is a Protestant,and the boys were brought up in his religon,and the girls,in their mother's! That was the way some families dealt with that dilema,back then!

Thanks, Lindapinda. I must have missed that bit. It was bugging me all the way through. I'm afraid I have a thing about continuity and authenticity.

Have to say it wasnt made clear on the programme at all !!..Its only cos I understand about that type of family background,that I can give an answer here!
