You know when you see the characters in Ugly Betty watching a South American soap opera (telenovela), well, was I going mad, or was that Salma Hayeck getting slapped by the other female character???

Salma Hayek as well as being an executive producer, and Sofia in Ugly Betty, also made an uncredited "cameo" in the pilot as a nurse in the telenova

yes she actually part directs the show so thats why she was in it

I thought it was her, but was asking myself "Why would she take such as tiny role".

That fact that she produces the show now makes her cameo make sense.
