Who is he and what programme was he on?

I remember watching an outtake programme quite a few years ago when an Australian ( i think he was an ozzie) dancer was doing his routine and he did a high kick and ended up tearing a muscle or doing something that ended up with him in agony.

He was dressed in some weird outfit and seemed to be very gay.

I think it was an "Opportunity Knocks" type of programme.

I remember seeing it - I think it was a 'Disco Dancing Contest' show - they were popular in the late '70's - early '80's. As you said the guy in question tore some muscle in his leg, and carfried on dancing, causing even more damage - probably due to a combination of adrenalin and intent to win!
