Blackbirds on AIrcraft Carriers ?

Watching CSI New York tonight, there appeared to be a Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" on board the US carrier in New York Harbour. Anyone know if this is likely to be a common piece of equipment on a carrier ? It just seemed unusual to me. Thanks.

The carrier in question is actually a part of the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, a showcase for the World War II aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, the submarine USS Growler, and a Concorde along with many other exhibits.

The plane you saw on the deck of the Intrepid was not an SR-71 but one of the precursors to that famous reconnaissance aircraft, the Lockheed A-12 "Oxcart".

As for an SR-71 (or an A-12) being carrier-operational, my first thought is the impracticality caused by these planes leaking copious quantities of fuel before take-off; this being too much of a hazard/overhead to warrant any adaptation to carrier-based operations.

Thank you kempie, you're nearly always good for an answer. I found out about the Intrepid after doing a more thorough search for sr-71/carrier related sites after posting my question. Next thing is, how long before an SR-91, or whatever the designation for "Aurora" will be takes it's place on board ?
