My name is on the deeds to my mothers house (and have been there for 21years) Fifty/fifty share.
She is soon going to sell it and go into sheltered housing.
When the legalities are complete will the solicitor automatically write out a cheque to her and one to myself for 50/50 shares of the proceeds?

Thank you

As your name is on the deeds the house cannot be sold without your signature. The solicitor should enquire how the money is to be split and who it should be paid to. If he/she doesn't, make sure you say what you want.
