If you watch Top Gear then you'll know what I'm talking about.

It's the "Driiving song" bit every week they slag of Meatloaf, Bat out of Hell, I can't understanf why, it's one of the best.
I'm not trying to induce a discussion on the merits of Meatloaf but why has he been singled out for special treatment?? The other songs are great too. Is there some sort of game going on here where they''ve invited him on to the last show of the season or something? ideas anyone

I have had Bat Out Of Hell in my car since my mate brought the cassette back from Germany in 1979 and noone is going to take it away from me! ( By the way, it is not the same cassette, my original went funny and I bought the album in 1980 with all the song lyrics on the insert) I used to get drunk to it when I lived at RAF St Athan and everyone was playing Meatloaf.  On a Hot Summer Night would offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?  YEEEEES

"Will he offer me his mouth?"

Im pretty sure Meatloaf was on the show as "The Star in the reasonably priced  car" in the last series. Maybe he annoyed the hell out of Clarkson and co with loads of demands???

And Im sure somewhere that on an old Top Gear driving songs CD, that they had Meatloaf on it. So Im baffled

Its between Queen and Meatloaf I think

im sorry but bat out of hell must be one of the most overrated albums in the history of music and the production on the actual song bat out of hell is terrible.

that said there are obviously millions out there who disagree with me but one thing is obvious from the songs chosen for the top gear top 5 - its been voted for by middle age dinosaurs !

Loosehead, if you need it explaining why it's embarrassing to like Meatloaf, then you'll never understand.  There is no game - they just think it's the wrong choice, and I agree.

Ok we all have our opinions but why put it up there as an option at all? I just got the feeling they where building up to something. As I said I'm not trying to debate the merits of Meatloaf, I just thought it a strange way to carry on.
It's not half as annoying as 'Anything for love - but I won't do that'
Weren't the choices voted for by the public rather than the presenters?  Can anyone confirm?
