Non-celebrities can always say that they will give the winnings to charity. The point of celebrities being announced as playing for charity is that it looks bad if they pocket their winnings and it looks good if they give to charity whilst benefiting the charity by naming it
You can go on and just give to charity. Nothing stopping anyone.
It's publicity for both the celeb and the charity.
Anyone can play for charity; you just have to get on the show, win the money and give it away.

The celeb get away with being stupid but the man /woman in the street have to pass a test id persume to appear.
If you want to give to charity just do it, you don't need to appear on TV.
That's because as it's for charity it doesn't matter if they're 'stupid' though does it as long as they try.

good point but how many when asked what would you do with ????? none ive heard have said id give it to charity ..The public should get a chance to play knowing from the start its going to charity that was the point I was making.
Celebrites increase the ratings, the company makes more money, it's not for charities or the public.

If you get on a show, you can say right at the start you're going to give your winnings to charity, there is nothing stopping you at all.
These are TV programmes. It's entertainment. Many viewers enjoy seeing celebrities on these shows. And if it raises money for charity then even better. I don't see a problem. As a member of the public there are shows you can apply for. I don't think the celebs are denying the general public the chance to take part- these are additional shows.
