He believes they are far too cautious, trying not to offend anyone.
I confess that i have never liked him, but take that aside, would you say he is right.

that's what i think, and he was the worse exponent of that. I tried watching his late night programme, a couple of times, but he just seemed to either suck up to the guests, or take the pee, which i didn't care for.
em10 i never watch tv these days and when i did have a licence and watched some tv i never had him on. :)

wonder if anyone else has a view about this.
some more will post later it is still early for some that come on here
personally I can't stand the chap, but he has got it right.

It was quite painful to listen to Chris Evans having to keep apologising for things Michael Caine said on his R2 prog, things which did not seem offensive imho.
Is Michael Caine a working-class racist made good? I'm sure not many people knew that.
Well sadly, the BBC is still smarting from a lot of flack they received as a result of Ross's own irresponsible behaviour.

Now better quality but 'daring' broadcasters have to watch their Ps and Qs

actually i think they have just ignored it. I might have mentioned this before, but
I watched the first ten minutes of a drama with Jason Issacs, Case Histories, not sure, it was after 9pm, but i turned it over. The language and the sheer vileness of one of the characters, had me reaching for the remote. i read that Sandy Tocsvig said something on radio the other day, about the government cuts. Which was jokingly sneered as tory cuts, minus the n.
It was the likes of Jonathan Ross, being his obnoxious self that caused the BBC to become ultra cautious. He offends people and when the BBC try to combat it complains that he's not allowed to offend them. What a ego that man has.
Question Author
I have never like the man, a two faced egotist. He interviewed a film star on his friday night show, and how he sucked up to the actor, saying what a great film it was and generally kissing his backside, several days later, he crucified the film and actor on film night, Barry Norman wouldn't have done that.
