Anyone else from N.I annoyed that they are axing Sean Coyle's morning programme?

I am definitely not too sure Radio 4 but recall my sister saying perhaps the listnership couldn't understand Gerry. Like he was saying Par - instead of PoWer, different dialects. I didn't have the pleasure of Gerry and Sean together but my sister says they were fabulous.

jennyjoan, I wrote to Peter Johnston today and expressed my disgust at Sean Coyle's programme being axed. I asked him for the reason why but I'm not really hopeful of getting a reply.

I highly doubt you will get a response, unless it's a standard 'refreshing the station from time to time … ' shove-off, which is the best you can hope for.

Let's face it, the people who hire and fire radio presenters don't appear to have to justify themselves even to the people who directly employ and pay them, they are hardly likely to trouble themselves with being held responsible by licence payers!

good to hear that Ellie - I just couldn't help myself but I cried sore yesterday and when this morning I first switched to whoever it was Joe somebody - I just switched the radio off completely

I see that he (Sean) is nearly getting 5,000 posts to be reinstated but by the look of Peter Johnston - I don't think he will give in.

Hi Elliemay - I believe Stephen Nolan gave a platform about Sean Coyle whereby listeners rang in being very upset about Sean. Because of my boycott of the radio I didn't hear it but sister said it was very good.

There is a repeat I think tomorrow morning (Stephen Nolan) and I will be up to listen to it.

By the way I too have sent a personal letter to Sean - not an email but a post. I don't know his address but I'm sure it will get to him.

Thank you jj. I heard part of Stephen's broadcast and most people were upset though a few thought it was time for a change. I am also going to write personally to Sean just incase he didn't get my email. I hope that if I send it C/O Radio Foyle they will forward it to him

well I know that all the postmen in Derry would know Sean - so I just posted it Sean Coyle Radio Ulster/Foyle presenter, Home Address - Derry.

I don't expect a reply as I am sure he will be inundated and couldn't reply to every email/post he receives.

As yet I've had no reply from Peter Johnston. What about you, jennyjoan? I still miss his programme and am enraged that it wasn't reinstated. Unfortunately no one seems to care!

Hi elliemay - it is early days for Sean - the petition has now gone over 7,000. I think personally another station will pick him up and give him a wee show. Hope so.

I don't turn the radio on at all in the mornings - I miss him too as he prompted me to do some housework LOL.

elliemay I know you aren't on AB at the mo but I'm listening to Jon Benett 23.00 Sunday night. Have got the headphones on and trying to focus on the songs when the news came on and of course I'm not interested in news but "I think I heard that Sean Coyle may be on another radio show". I do hope so Ellie. I rang my sister hoping she heard same news but shem is watching TV but is going to listen for news at 12.00. I hope I "heard right". JJ
