I want to buy the  new James Cagney DVD set (Public Enemy etc) but it's only available through HMV. Does anyone know wfrom past experience what this means - will it go on wider sale later, or will it be an HMV monopoly forever? (I'd like the price to come down a bit but it's unlikely to do so without any competition).

It's a fair bet that another company will release the DVD, though it may be a few months down the line.

Even though they have a number of stores, I would think they have shared the cost of mastering the DVD with another company to recoup their costs.

Have a look through the website

www.zetaminor.com

as that site lists up-and-coming cult DVD releases from all the main studios.
