I remember a kids TV programme in the 70's in the YTV region it was presented by Kathyrn Aponawicz(spelling) and a teenage boy Was it William Hague ?

If you mean Calendar Kids, it starred Kathryn Apanowicz and Mark Curry, but William Hague was once interviewed on that programme.
