i am interested to know what other people thought of the great tram smash in corrie last night. I DON'T want to know who dies though. Are there spoilers on the other thread?

We don't know yet, it ended with just a look at who may be stuck / in danger / hurt. So go for it :-)

Sorry I'll add to that, they may be one small spolier, but the rest is all just guessing
Quite a lot of speculation but I don't really believe anyone 'knows' for sure :o)

Excellent scenes, weren't they ? I was worried that it would all look a little cheesy, but I was very impressed.

i thought it was brill! As a life-long corrie fan, i too wa a bit worried that it would look silly.
I thought the explosion was good, and for a moment i actually forgot about the tram. I thought, Oh is that it?
So to see it charging along the track was a bit of a surprise - but I didn't expect the second carriage to flip like it did. I was as shocked as Ken!
My little boy said it looked like a big metal monster, crashing down on poor old Rita!
I really enjoyed it.
I guess after watchin enders 50p a shot fire in the Vic they decided to go for it
We sat here silent for a moment and then both turned to each other with a round-eyed "ooooooooo" afterwards. :o)

I shan't be on AB at 7.30 tonight, for definite !

ITN 'interviewing' Corrie characters.

How dumb is that? Reality meets fiction - rather like Answerbank.

It's a soap, I say, it's a soap.
I have to totally disagree with you here crisgal, JTH, pinki I think it was complete p!sh. The explosions weren't too bad but the tram crash looked like a really naff B movie. As for it flipping into the air that was just laughable and how anyone could take it seriously as a piece of drama astounds me.
MissN - I sat through an episode of Santa Barbara (US soap) where an 'earthquake' was played out solely by the actors jiggling and moving unsteadily about whilst the cameramen swung their cameras around............:o)
(Props in the background stayed amusingly still)

For a soap opera, I still say it was well-done. I shouldn't think it will ever rival anything in The Matrix and nor should it have to !

well i certainly wasn't expecting anything like a c-movie, necer mind a b-movie! seeing as how it's a tv programme, i thought it was very well done and has come a long way since it's beginnings, whilst retaining its charm
I think it was a great way to celebrate 50 fab years.
I thought it was excellent and far surpassed my expectations. Well done to Corrie!! Shall be ready and waiting for it this evening.
anyone notice how the postbox stayed intact!
Shouldn't it have ?
Did it sustain a direct 'tram-hit' ?
i mean when the joinerys front blew out, the postbox was still standing
They are made of cast iron.
Just think how many old postboxes were left standing after the 2nd world war. They are virtually indestructable!!
true
