Well day 2 and still awful. A vast studio with Chiles running across to talk to Dan Lobb at the sports desk and hoping he wont slip over. And a large screen up for pictures or the weather forecast covered in squares Why?,And Chiles still has to lean forward to read his script and looks uncomfortable on the sofa.Maybe needs glasses. And Bleakley flashing her legs instead of sitting neatly behind a desk like it used to be in the good old days of GMTV. Horrible .The BBC morning programme may soon be our choice."The Future looks Bleak the Future looks Gloomy."For ITV.

I have already comented on Chiles' uncomfortable posture - he looks like a twelve-year-old peering at a particularly knotty maths problem on the blackboard, from the backl of the class.

Why he has to do a 'blokey' chat with the sports guy when both are clearly uncomfortable with it, heven knows - bet that's dropped before the month is out.

The famous 'chemistry', what ever that's supposed to mean - is clearly absent, so all in all, looks like ITV have laid a big breakfast egg.
woke up to it, told me the local news, traffic report and weather update, job done.
mccfluff - the info you are referring to would have come from your local "team", not Chiles, Bleakley and Lobb the K n o b.

So, in conclusion, it's still rubbish!

I wonder if it's worth bombarding ITV with complaints?! :o)
I never felt Chiles looked comfortable on the One Show.

Only saw Daybreak briefly today and Chiles did not comfortable on that either.

I dont think he will last long.

I think he has been promoted above his level.
Absolutely!

The powers-that-be see someone in a certain role, and imagine they will become a 'one-size-fits-all' if they pay them enough!

Remember Davina McCall's 'chat show'?

Obviously ITV don't!
sorry the point i was trying to make is i don't care as long as i get the info i need in the morning i'm not bothered who/when/why/what they are wearing how many times they grin etc

although if i really really had to choose then a line up of fit men would be pleasing
"although if i really really had to choose then a line up of fit men would be pleasing"
If that were the case I might be tempted to watch myself :)
As it is I find both Bleakley and Chiles incredibly annoying. I'll continue to get the news from Sky News I think.
Best is - apparently AC is miffed because he is being forced to use an autocue, and he reckons his strength (?) is being spontanious!!!

He comes over as being about a spontanious as a Conservative Council Meeting - I had to laugh.

But the News lady is seriously gorgeous!
I watched a bit of the first show before I set off for work yesterday, a couple of the news items (out on location, not the news itself) that I saw were presented in a way that would seem suitable for children's newsround, with over-emphasis on certain words as if they were talking down to the audience.
I watch a little of Randall and Hopkirk on ITV3 or 4 before I set off now.
Sky News for me in the morning, I think!
I am sticking with the BBC. Over here in NI, the regional "news" offered by Daybreak and it's predecessor GMTV, consists of last night's regurgitated 6 o'clock news without the clips, and a weather forecast that suggests the presenter just stuck her head out the window and had a quick look up at the sky!
Don't know what you're all talking about. Who are these people who watch TV in the mornings? Radio is for mornings and afternoons and TV is for evenings. Anything else is just plain wrong.
I never usually watch tv in the morning but I stuck it on today to see what all the fuss was about. My question is if they have two whacking great sofas why the flump are the (useless IMO) presenters all squashed up and falling all over each other when there's plenty room For Funks Sake?

Definately back to the radio for me!
I must be the in the minority.I like it.I think it highlights just how shabby and dated GMTV had become. Its fast moving which is ideal for dipping in and out in the morning.
Every new programme along with the presenters need a settling in time. This is only Day 3..
Was gonna watch Sky News this morning, but then realised that tw*t Eamonn Holmes is the front man!

Radio for me, I think!
Chiles always reminds me of Benny Hill, so I find it hard to take him seriously. ;o)
