I was shown a 'p!rate' copy of the final episode of 'One Foot' today - the one where Victor is killed.

The version I saw had a scene - about half way through - where Margaret Meldrew is doing volutary work, picking up litter and she is joined by the lady who was driving the car which knocks down Victor. It then returns to the story of Victor going to a works re-union. This scene seemed totally out of place and out of the natural timeline and gave away the fact that Victor died.

My question is - Was this how it was originally screened? I did see it but it was getting on for 10 years ago and can't recall this 'jump'

yes, it was screened that way

The thing is they needed to show a lot of the show in flashback, and the story also included Margaret's realisation that the friend was the person responsible. The fact that Victor dies was leaked months before and was widely reported in the press
It was a brilliant performance by Annette Crosbie.

Many thanks for the replies

Seems my memory of the whole proram was out. Couldn't recall ANY flashbacks. And I DO BELIEVE THAT!!!!!!!
But why is it bothering you now?

It was yonks ago.

jem.
There is one more episode - a two-hander with Margaret and Victor visiting a relative of Margaret's.

The pay-off is stunning - no spoilers please!
I never even knew he was killed in the last episode (but then I never watched it).

Next you will be telling me the boat sinks at the end of Titanic.
Yes Annette Crosbie was superb as I remember, but hannah Gordon was rubbish, I quite liked Paul Merton as the slimy landlord in the creepy reunion scene. andy hughes what do you mean there';s one more, what a new one?
It's not new - i think it was a 'one-off'.

I don;t want to give away the plot and ending - but it invloves Victor and Margaret visitng (I think) her uncle in hospital. It is absolutely fantastic - I urge you to track it down.
Yes I've seen that one Andy- brilliant!
