I wondered that as well, is this a recent thing? I haven't noticed this sign before.

Maybe because they paid ITV2 for ad space and they would be repeated for free on +1

ITV doesn't have the rights from the makers of some programmes to transmit a particular programme on ITV2+1 and that includes the advert argument as mentioned above too.

It's irritating I know.
