Genuine question. Can anyone explain to me why it takes 2 people (at no doubt fabulous salaries) to conduct a talk show , or read the news on T V ? The one reads an item & then the other one has a go & then back to the first one again. Most major channels seem to do this & I think in view of the present economic situation savings could be made by one person doing the job, especially the BBC who after all are using licence payers money. Does anyone agree with me ?

Yes. Perhaps they think we'll be bored with only one person.
Like the one show they have to introduce each other why ? they are crap anyway I have now started to switch off when they come on
I agree, I could do it on my own easily.
